I am using Photoshop CS2 loaded on a machine with Win XP home SP2. I have 512 Mb of RAM with 80% allocated to Photoshop.
For 3 months I have had no problems but now I am having difficulty accessing the drop down menus in the menu bar (FILE, EDIT etc).
The menus appear but only for an instant. This applies in response to mouse clicks and to keyboard shortcuts so I do not think it is a mouse problem.
There is initially no problem if I open the program from a desktop Photoshop.exe shortcut but, of course the menu selections are all greyed out. As soon as I import a photo onto the page the menus refuse to drop down except for an instant.
Other buttons such as Brushes work OK.
I have re-installed the program but that has not cleared the problem.
I have seen somewhere that this was a bug in the Beta version of CS3.
I snould add that VERY occasionally from a machine re-boot I can get the program to work but it soon fails again.
