drops on wood

i have apicture of a piece of wood with droplets on it, i plan on adding my name "Ross" to it, (credit to agustinrojo for the picture i started wiht, i ahve edited changed levels etc. to practise using levels but as i said, i want to add text to it, how do you suppose i make it blend in, if you know what i mean, any suggestions for effects to make it look good on wood?

Well, you could try and make a burned in look.
(all you need to fix up is the blending options of the text layer).
That's all I can think of right now xD

You could have a different letter of the word warped into each droplet. All you would need to do is make each letter its own layer, rasterize it, and then liquify it (ctrl + shift + x)

those droplets look like paws to me, is this correct?
