Exporting layer comps.

Exporting layer comps.

Postby CabbageTree on Tue Oct 13, 2009 3:30 pm

Hi guys,

I was just exporting a bunch of layer Comps, when I realized, that the exported files are named as "0001_NameOfLayercomp".

Have you any idea how to get rid of that nomber prefix?

I exported slightly adjusted thumbs which were intended to overwrite the old ones on my web. It is obvious, that the names has to bee exactly the same as original on my FTP. I named each Layer Comp as the target file name should be. But the prefix given to the exported files nipped me around.

My Free Commander refused to delete few first characters, so I have to manually rename each file...when the hell freezes over!

How to export Layer Comps without the prefix in the name?

Thanks for any assistance!

hi,
I saw your post i don't have much experience with that function but did some research..

it appears that, that is a common.. it programed that way.... in fact it appears that if you export gourps you'll enve get more numbers in the name ... smiling...

the only thing i can think of
1. maybe run batch command to rename the files.... or use a renaming program....

2. go into the java script command and make a change.. now i am not familiar with modifying java scripting.... possibly there on the net there maybe a java script for PS that will do that.. been looking ...

you might be intereted in this link it has some info ...

I wish i could be of more help but my knowledge on modifying script is very limited... but i hope i was of some help..
