fading opaque>transparent gradient

Postby monoman on Wed May 23, 2007 1:21 pm

hi,
when you make a gradient, and fade one colour into another, I want to fade an opaque colour into a transparent colour, so that the colour doesn't just get faded, but it also, becomes more transparent, if you know what I mean?

can someone tell me how/ give me a relevant tutorial?

thanks

If you go up to the gradient drop-down menu at the top of the menu bar (when the gradient tool is selected) and click the down-arrow, there is an option for color-transparent gradients. It looks like this:

If done on a separate layer, the opacity can be controlled with the opacity slider.

Hmmm... a photoshop forum may not be the best place to post a question then, eh?

I'm sure corel has a gradient configuration dialog, but have no idea where it would be. If you search google, i'm sure you'll come up with something. :)
