Hi All
Newbie on this Forum, running CS3 Extended. Please what is the difference in the Layers Palette between Fill and Opacity. They both seem to carry out the same task

Usually when using a gradient map, Fill usually reduces the depth / colour of the layer, and opacity is just t he general visability of the layer |

| Hi Mike and welcome! Regarding your question, my understanding of the difference is that the opacity slider affects everything on the layer including any layer styles, whereas the fill slider does not. In other words, if you had added a drop shadow to the image, adjusting the fill slider would not effect that shadow but the opacity slider would. |
