filters not working

Postby mazooni on Mon Apr 30, 2007 6:21 pm

ive browsed this forum and the net for answers, but i cant seem to find the solution, except one person that mentioned a reinstall of creative suite ..

well, my image IS in RGB, it is also 8 bit, but, when applying filters, all i see is a blank white space in the preview, and nothing happens ..

anyone had such a problem ? they were working fine last time i used them :S

The best way to solve theese kind of problems is useually if you post a screenshot after pressing file>new
and just a screenshot of your whole canvas (with layer-box in it etc.).

thanks for the reply mate, i gave up after hours of messing with it .. i just uninstalled, reinstalled, they're all working again ..

it sucks i couldnt figure out wat the problem was, but, the noob solution seemed to work ..

btw, a 'repair' or reinstall didnt do anything .. i had to uninstall photoshop (advanced uninstall), reinstall, activate again ..

Hah! I know why :)
When using that filter you have to make sure your colors are reset.
Close the filter option, and hit "d" (simple as that, resets your foreground color to black and background to white).
Now the filter will work properly.

Good luck ;)
