After 34 months of time developing their newest version of web browser (Firefox 3), it will finally be available for download tomorrow (June 17th). When firefox is released mozilla, the creator of firefox, expect firefox 3 to be the most downloaded software within a 24 hour span through out history.

Who here tried the beta? To me it seemed like a giant leap backwards, in my opinion. Hope the final version is better.

I have the beta. It's nothing fantastic. I don't mind the address bar remembering my most used websites.. but I really was not happy with how it forced images dragged out of the browser to a) line up properly on the desktop instead of where I want them and b) not let them load into PS by dropping it directly instead of saving it on the desktop.

Its the address bar I couldn't stand, the three lines for each address, its unnecessary and takes up to much room.

I tried the beta and hated it, none of the other themes work on it yet and it looks so ugly lol. I'm still going to download it tomorrow to help them break the world record though :).

I'm sure somebody will make a fix soon enough after it comes out to remove the extra lines from the address bar.

I'm downloading it, but I will not use it yet. FF2 had some bugs when it was first released, they were fixed in later versions. I was using 1.5 until 2.0.0.8 was out (i think it was 8). FF3 will probably have some bugs, i will only test it on my virtual machine. I hope they will brake the record.

I only downloaded it to help them break the record, I didn't like the beta at all.

I've been using the Beta for a while, I don't REALLY mind it anymore, but I never bothered changing settings, I jsut use as is with most browsers.

I have been using FF3 for about 15mins now and i'm very surprised. They seem to have sorted out many bugs from the beta and actually quite like it. The whole design is much smaller allowing for maximum browsing. The improved zoom and full screen moods are a god send. Also probably most important is the great reduce in processing power needed to run FF3 its considerably less than FF2, and the application opens instantly where as FF2 took a few seconds.

I am surprisingly pleased, still looking through all the menus but there seems to be lots of very good improvements, good job Mozilla.

I just had a quick look there and visually it's ok, well sort of... I like the look of the tabs but the back button looks a bit like IE5 well on Mac anyway. I'm gonna have a look through it now and see what I think.

I like the new bookmark handeling, and when scroll-click at a bookmark folder with several folders in it, it opens them up without closing the current tabs.

Just have to wait a few days for my addons to be working with version 3 though :S
