Okay, so last night I decided to use my PS for the first time, and I read some tutorials, and made a sig. This morning I was playing Kingdom Hearts, and decided to make one = ) . Hope you like them, and can give me some advice.

1st attempt, also made changes

For the first one, I am [almost] never a fan of a blurred image over a sharp one. If there was an explosion in the background (and the character's posture reflected that) then I would say maybe a motion blur... but smudging... ew.

For the second ones I am having a harder time deciding. The way it is now I would say maybe go with the line version, but I feel with some tweaking the no line version has more potential. If you are going to use the no line version then I would try and feather out the image a little more. That is to say, the rain stops abruptly, as does the shadow around his face, so it kind of feels constricted anyway (a feeling the lines reinforce). But if I had to chose between those two AS IS / NO CHANGES ALLOWED then I would say the lined version.

Pretty sweet stuff you got there. Some people would argue the scan lines you used in the first set of are over rated, but I think they work well in the sig.

Thanks, Yea The ones on top where my first ones, and I used the smuging as a experiment, I think the blur worked much better in the second sig. Also what do you mean by feather?

a feather is basically a gradient applied to a selection. When you make a normal selection the selected line is solid (like cutting with scissors), but if you apply a feather to the selection then pixels on the fringes will be selected with a certain opacity depending on the distance they are from the edge. The farther from the edge the greater the transparency for those pixels, the closer to the edge a pixel is the greater the opacity of the selection. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you play with it you'll get it.

All I am saying is that you should try and not make the edge the separates the rain from the white space so solid, you want to smooth the transition - feather it.
