Fixing/Blending Ruff Edges

Postby robbyrob on Sun Jul 29, 2007 2:05 pm

Hello everyone here!! i must say there are some very talented photoshopers here!! I have a problem, and i try to search but didnt come up with anything. I am just trying to figure out how to blend or blur the border of a image that i insert into another pic. for example. I have this pic.

I wanted to remove a section but when i do you could clearly see that there is a box by the edges.

I tried to use the refine edges and it seems to be working good but when i would select yes it would keep the effects. any help would be appreciated.

How is this?

Image

I cloned the area below the "patch" then used the "Blur" tool to soften the edges. After, I did "Highlights/Shadows" to further obscure the border between the patch and the surrounding area.

There were some moire patterns in the flame, so I sampled the color then paint-bucketed it.

I also cloned some "clean" areas to rid the pic of some of those beige "blotches" (such as those by the figure on the stairs).

Think I "Despeckeled" it at some point as well.

Its not perfect, but you can tweak it as much as you see fit now :)

Hope this helped,
Rick

You could just use the clone stamp tool. It was made for these things:

Just use the clone stamp too. Alt + click on the area below the text then normal click on the text. This will automatically cope the area below the text and put it over the text.

You may need to blur it at the end ( filter > blur > gaussian blur)
