Hey again,
i am wanting to put a video onto my website. I uploaded a WMV file but it only played in IE. My friend surgested flash, flash should work in most browsers. I can convert the video to flash but my only problem then is my users cant easly controle the video. Anyone got any ideas how to do this..?
im a flash noob so dont get to technical lol :oops:

Or if anyone knows of a way i can make a WMV work in firefox that would be great.

Upload it to youtube.com and read on their page how to add it to your page.

i would but dont you get the youtube watermark? My site isnt like a little privet site :? its a community site and i want it to look profesional ;)

You could compress it with the MPEG2 codec if you want playback across all browsers, or you could use the far superior Sorenson 3 + Quicktime format compression methods but users will need QT installed in order to view it. Flash isn't really needed in this situation, I certainly wouldn't use it as the video compression quality isn't that great and largely overrated.

how would i go about compressing it with a MPEG 2 codec, i know almost nothing about codecs lol.. thanks for your help tho :)

Here this is a free program that codes your video to WMV if that will do ya. More people have WMP that Quicktime on there computer so it is more accessable to use WMV.

I hate the microsoft website nothing is clear. Grrrr
