FTP and hosting my files??? HELP

I'm not very sacy with web stuff but I've managed to coble an idea together and I'm 99% there but its getting so frustrating!

Basicaly I'm designing a site in dreamweaver and so I have loads of files to upload to my host (streamline). I've accessed the ftp interface and have even uploaded the temp under construction dreamweaver file but when ever I launch the site I get a tiny blue question mark? Tere arent that many options to play with on the ftp interface so I cant think why my file is not visible. please anyone got any ideas or already been through this learning curve?

Do you have index.html (htm) or index.php file one your server. If you don't, and you type www.yoursite.com in you browser without specifying some file like www.yoursite.com/somefile.html you'll get an error message.

The solution is to make any kind of html file and name it index.html (or .htm), that would also be your home page.
