General Re-Touch Guidelines that you use?

Postby tombothetominator on Thu May 03, 2007 5:03 pm

Just curious what everybody's basic workflow is for retouching general photos (not necesarrily portraits) from their digicam?

Mine goes: levels correction, color correction, generally I up the color saturation by ~5, lens correction, and depending on the picture, a polarization-esque filter to help colors if they still aren't looking right.

So what do you do to those pics out of the digicam to make them 'pop'??

Convert monitor to printer color profile, Shadow/Highlight (if necessary), Noise reduction as needed, Convert to Lab mode, color correction/boost (the Lab version of adding saturation), Sharpen for image content, convert to CYMK mode, sharpen for print.
