It is because browsers run at a set frame rate (one tenth a second per frame I believe). You probably made the animation with a frame rate of one fiftieth (.05) rather than one tenth (.1).

That's all I can think of.

Ok I just saved the gif to see what its frame rate was at, just to be sure, and I realized two things. (1) My suspiscions were right, you have the frame rate at .04 instead of .1 (which is faster than i thought). and (2) that Firefox is able to run gifs at a faster speed the IE 7 because my IE 7 slows it down.

Unfortunately, changing the frame rate will not change the animation speed in the browser. Since IE and, apparently, Opera only run gifs at .1 or slower all changing it to .1 will do is show you what it will look before you upload it. What you will have to do is change it to .1 and delete every other frame (this would make it seem as though it were running at a speed of .05 since half of the frames are gone it will run through at -seemingly- twice the speed).

In order to make this change I would have to know what program you are using. In Animation shop 3 you simply right click on the frame and go to "frame properties" to change it.
