Having a Hard Time Recreating This...

Check this site out and notice how they made the transparent windows for everything. I've been having a hard time trying to get them looking right in Photoshop. Anyone got any suggestions?

Create your button shape. Go to the color picker, and set the following values: H:0, S:0, B:35. Fill your button, then set the blend mode to Soft Light.

For the button edges, go to Layer> Layer Style> Bevel and Emboss. Set it to Pillow Emboss, and adjust the settings to your liking.

At 50% gray (H:0, S:0, B:50) the button would be completely transparent, except for the edges. AT b:35, the button will darken the background slightly, as in the example. At B: >50, the background would be lightened.

Actually, I just noticed a slight problem. When I apply the Soft Light blend, for some reason the corners of the shape clip off. Here's an example:



Any tips on how to restore the smoothness of the corners?

Nevermind, figured it out. Forgot what I did though, was hours ago haha.
