HELP! HTML AND ADOBE PHOTOSHOP COMPATIBILITY ISSUES.

Postby cyclo3000 on Wed Jul 09, 2008 10:35 pm

I'm having trouble with my web developer. I design the graphics and send them to my web developer. He's not very good though because he keeps telling me that he can't layout the website exactly the way I have it layed out in a blueprint file in photoshop.
However I think he is wrong but can't prove it because I have no knowledge of HTML. I can create FLASH sites and I know in flash I can put images anywhere I want to. He keeps telling me he can't put the button exactly 2px from this button and can't put that image 5px away from the bottom and things like that.
So my question is if I lay out a website in photoshop, buttons, images, text, etc. can it be duplicated 100% on the web? Meaning what I see on the web is exactly the way I created it in photoshop.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, it can! PSD to Web is a service, and your designer should do his job to make it look identical for you ;)

haiya! well, I studied photoshop, and I learned HTML all by myself. I created the buttons of my webpage in photoshop, it's easier to create a web page with images in adobe photoshop than saving the image you created in photoshop and writing it in html. I can do it for you if you want. 'just want to practice my skills. harhar!

Its not always that easy, but I suppose if it is his job he should be able to do it!

It's possible to do and anyone who says it isn't clearly doesn't know what they are doing. It just takes a little more coding is all.

Chubzyko, getting photoshop to save the image as HTML isn't a perfect system. it may be easier but you can guarantee yourself better quality doing it after the images are saved and piecing them together.

wanna see my dirty website? ehe! i'm not actually done with it yet. still under construction because i'm busy in working while studying.

chubzyko, work on unity. work on getting each page to look the same, and try to avoid having only sections of the page scrolling. allow the whole page to scroll. I dunno if you're using frames, I didn't really look at your code, but if you are I would avoid having three frames and only the middle one scrolls. It confuses the user. neat buttons though.

i am actually thinking of that also. to scroll the whole mid page. yeah im using framesets, and im planning to create a background in adobe photoshop 'cause the color of my site is too plain. Thanks for the comments! :D
