I have Photoshop CS 8.0 and Illustrator 10. I want to do something extremely simple and it is driving me crazy.
I scanned a b/w cartoon I had drawn into Photoshop. It's a tiff. I need to paste text on top of it. I created the text in Illustrator and converted the font into outlines.
When I used Illustrator 8 and Photoshop 5 I could simply copy the text in Illustrator and paste it immediately into Photoshop. It would appear with the 'marching ants' around each letter. If I hit delete it would turn the text black. Then I would flatten the image and it was done. Simple!!
When I do that now, the text gets pasted in a separate box (as though I hit place image) and appears grey. No marching ants. Nothing. It's supposed to be black.
What am I doing wrong??? I just want black text pasted into a black and white cartoon. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! E-mail me at DoctorDuk@aol.com.
Thanks.

Hey, i have a few suggestions for you. Is your picture in black and white mode? or just a RGB with a layer that is desaturated. Sometimes i do that on accident when i want colored text, it appears grey instead. As far as anything else goes, i'm running illustrator 11, and it works fine to copy and paste it directly over to PSPcs. I selected all my outline text, edit copy, then with my image selected in PSP edit paste, and it works just fine. Must be a problem with your settings, or a problem with your version 10 illustrator, sorry i couldn't help more
