help needed with printing

Postby paintman on Fri Aug 03, 2007 2:38 pm

I uses photoshop 5.5 to resize and print blueprints. On some drawings it only prints half of the picture. I then have to rotate the picture and print it again, the physically cut it and tape together. It almost seems like the printer head is getting stuck (even though i know that it's not)

Could it be that the pdf files were created with a newer version of adobe and my version (5.5) doesn't read it??

any and all help is appreciated!!

Well... a couple of suggestions:

1: Ensure it is setup to fit on the page to start with (ie. if you have an A3 image and print it on A4 you're not going to get it all on unless you select fit to page)

2: If it is giving up half way through the print then you may find that the file is too big for the printer/software processing the file. Try resizing the image to a lower resolution (ie. if it is 800dpi at size, then you can certainly take that down to at least 400dpi without really noticing anything).

If these don't help... then may need some more information to tell exactly what the problem is.
