help with form!

Postby katemc238 on Thu Mar 29, 2007 3:49 pm

hey i was wondering if anyone could help,
i am creating a form that when the user enters information in a textfield it goes into the database this part works fine
but now i hope to have a second text area that on clicking a button information is recieved from the database and put in the text area.
at present the database is been printed out on a php page.
do i need to redirect it to the html page? is this possible to do at all?
thanks
katy

it has to be done on a php page databases are dynamic pages but it does really make a diffrence in coding if you use a php or html so you can't direct to html but just use the php and you can do it

You don't need an html page if you have a php they are basically the same. All of my pages now are whatever.php even if I am not using databases it just gives you more options in the future if you want to add something that needs a dynamic page. If you are using dreamweaver they have an option under insert > application object > insert record > record insertion form wizard. this is helpful when doing what you are.
