Help with slow rendering HTML page

Help with slow rendering HTML page

Postby questionmark on Thu Apr 12, 2007 2:29 pm

****Please view this site and let me know if it is loading poorly for you, hard to read etc... or takes a refresh to load background or images and advise on a fix****

page is yourequityaccelerator.com

it is a landing page for some advertisements I am running. It renders very slowly and not completely when the load icon says done.

I have run CSE HTML Validator, free version and fixed many syntax errors. If you keep refreshing the page, it eventually loads correctly.

BIG problem here is that if this page doesn't load in about 3 seconds or less, I think my prospects will be gone! I know I would be.

One thing right off the bat is that all of the images are in the same, main directory as the index.htm -- I don't know if that's a problem but I know that usually, you would create an image directory and refer to that directory for the images.

I don't know why else this would load so slowly. I am using embedded css text style.

Please have a look and advise. My advertisement is running, and people are trying to access this page with poor results.

I know that this is what I get when I pretend to be an HTML progammer.. Any advice is appreciated.

Only things i can think of is:

- The majority of your images are .jpg (.jpg images tend to be high quality and will take longer to load)

- Who is your host? (Do they have reliable fast servers?)

The biggest jpg is 120kb - that's the header-- that's not so large is it? I don't think that is the problem but I would gladly try downsizing stuff if you think it needs to be done.

my host is Global Internet Solutions. gisol.com

appears to be server related. I uploaded the same html doc to another server and it renders quickly here...

www.dtmortgage.com/hoa.htm

therefore I have their techs looking into it...thanks.
