Help with splitting a .psd file

Postby SteveOh_UK on Sun May 20, 2007 8:36 pm

Hi fellas...

I have a problem with a .psd file.

It is a Joomla template that I need to alter,

at the moment it is on BIG .psd file with lots of layers etc.

How do split it into the numerour gifs that make up the site?

I'm very new to CS3 and I was no dab hand with CS2.

Any help appreciated.

I would reccomend slicing the whole thing into pieces.
Basicly you use one of the marque tools to make selections you then copy/paste into new files (yes, it takes time).
But, if you've still got the layers on that big .psd file, just simply create a new file and drag a couple of layers over there.

Steve
I'm not sure about CS3, but File>Scripts>'Layer Comps to File' or 'Export Layers to File' will do it in CS. I don't think it will go directly to Gifs, but you can save the layers as Psds and convert them later.
