Hi all,
I'm confused -- why does Helvetica show up as a font in MS Word, but not in the system fonts folder and not in Illustrator CS3? I am OK with purchasing it if I have to, but I wanted to be sure I don't already own it, first.
Thanks!

If your using a Mac check your font book, if it's in there it should be showing up in your CS3.

That happens to me on Windows. I can't use the font in photoshop or anything, just the MS Office products. But on Mac I can use it anywhere.

This was KILLING me as I am on a PC, and could see Helvetica in my font list in Word, but it wasn't showing up in any CS program. Additionally, it could not be found in the font folder in my system. Then I looked closer and realized that even in Word, when I use "Helvetica" it's not actually Helvetica showing up when I type. It looks like Arial, I would guess it just defaults to that under the assumption that normal people 1) wouldn't notice and 2) wouldn't care.
