sort of guessing here... always difficult to backtrack and to determine how something is done or if there style name involved.

it sort of looks like hdr ... now there many "fake/simulated" single image hdr tutorials..

yup. jerry may be right it looks like hdr to me also I see the possibilities of a plugin called Topaz Adjust also

I think you must go with creative nerds and Photoshop lady tutorials. In my opinion I think these are the best one. Because with these kinda tutorials you have chances to develop your designing skills. These day I am dealing with Wordpress themes and I got most of these skills from such kinda tutorials.
