how does he paste trim the whte cirle in place

how does he paste the white circle in place of the button in photoshop cs3. there is a link to the tutorial. I try to cut and paste and it pastes not in the same place as the tutorial

You draw a circle on button then click Ctrl Shift N to create new layer then fill this circle with with color : alt + Backspace. hope this help
