1.Create the image that you want to
2. now draw a circle of the size you want the image to be
3. the area inside the circle will be the image that you want
4. On the main menu of Photoshop goto selectàinverse
5. this would select the entire area other then the one inside the circle
6. press and delete it.
7. now you are left with the round image
8. while saving the image assure that there is no other layer in the background
9. save the optimized as transparent image
10. here you are, a rounded image

For rounded edges I normally do a two step process. Since there is no rounded-rectangle selector tool the next best thing is to use the rectangle and circle tools in conjunction.

It is kind of hard to explain so I made a quick little tutorial of events. And even so, I am not very good at tutorials so good luck figuring it out. You basically just use the curve of the circle to curve the rectangle to make the selection you want.

.... good luck:

There is no rounded rectangular selection tool, but there is a rounded rectangle shape tool, if you draw the shape you want and CTRL + click for the selection it will be the same exact thing, but a lot simpler. You can use this shape to delete the corners of images and get the rounded effect.

Yup.. But it's not nearly as round-edged as your way of doing it Isick, so I'd actually reccomend your method.

Yea I have found out it's not exactly round, but It is a bit simpler than just doing all that. So unless your a detail freak (im not), I suggest the tool. Trust me my face was red when I found out about that tool too. There is also a rounded rectangular selection tool in imageready.

cant you just change the radius and make it more round? i dont use that very often and do feel like taking the 4 minutes it would take to find out for myself.
