Image not clear when save in gif format

Hi,

I have problem in creating animation gif file either in photoshop or image ready, the result is not good, the image is not clear. The setting I use are as below:

Save for web
Perceptual
No Dither
Transparency - checked
Lossy - 0%
color - 256


Pls advise....

Yeah GIF files usually are not as clear as a jpeg or something else.

Thats because .gif is a very poor format for photos. If the image consisted of a low amount of colours (like a cartoon) then it would be fine. The large amount of colours featured in colour photographs are not really suitable for the .gif format.

There is no real way of getting around this other than using flash (as that can handle animating with .jpgs).

Does .png support animations? See if you can save it as one of those.

I don't think .png works for animations...
.gif or Flash are basically the only ways I know of.


It's very possible I'm wrong, though.
