I got a little bit bored and decided to have a quick look at how "webmaster" has managed to post 3503 topics. Looking at his profile http://www.devppl.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2 it says he has 3503 but with the search http://www.devppl.com/forum/search.php?search_author=webmaster it can only find 3495 of his posts. Fair enough i hear you say, but what are they all?? Click one of the last pages say 233, see any posts? I don't!! He has in fact only got posts up to page 156 thats 2324. I don't know if this is just a accident or whether he is "cheating"!!

Which ever way i think this should be changed immediately!!

This forum probably has a part that is reserved only for administrators and moderators and isn't visible to other members. It's nothing strange, all forums have that. Webmaster probably has few posts in that part of the forum, they are counted, but you cannot see them.

To be honest, 3000 posts in 4 years is pretty average or even below average. I don't see anything strange here.
Why are You pointing this out in the first place?
Post count gives You no gain, it's just a number.

But it is strange how he has so many posts under his name and doesn't have that many to show.

Maybe the forum has an auto prune system that deletes posts after a set amount of time, say 3 years? These posts would still be on webmasters post count but would actually no longer be viewable.

But if that were the case then surely all those pages would be removed aswell?

I really can't see what all the buzz is about? He's the webmaster, he can do as he pleases here.
If he wants his post count to be higher, it's his call.
If he posts in hidden subsections, it's his call.

Alot of those posts are from the days webmaster used RRS (I think thats the abbervation) for news posts from different databases. He used to post around 4-5 news topics a day in those days. And yes, I do think the forum somehow purges away some of the the olders topics.

Alrighty, some clarification then :)

That's correct

Nope, no auto prune

I like that one, but it's not cheating.

That's the correct answer!

We've put up some administration forums to discuss some things, just for administrators, that's why you can't see them. But if you check my posts/day, it isn't that high, check your own, many of you guys have a much higher rate, it's just that I've been here for a while :)

[b]Posts / day:[b]
Webmaster: 2.65 posts per day
Johnathan: 1.82 posts per day
Tomi: 0.93 posts per day
rangana: 3.42 posts per day
flabbyrabbit: 0.98 posts per day
nighthawk: 0.57 posts per day

But if you take away my posts in the news-forum, I would be far from that many posts.

Well thank you webmaster, i think i shouldn't have been so accusative in my original post, it was meant to be more of a query.

It's being calculated as posts / day since you registered.

flabbyrabit: no worries :)
