Is my Photoshop Busted?

Postby sprinkles202 on Wed Mar 21, 2007 4:35 pm

hey, i need help,

i tried to make the cool ball of light effect from the following link:

http://www.tutorialwiz.com/light_burst/

but where it says use Layer->Rasterize->Shape
i cant use it, it appears as though my rasterize tool is inactive, how can i get it to work?

or does anyone have a better tutorial on how to make a ball of light a bit like that one?

extremely greatful to all replies.

It's just a bad tutorial.
Before you even start creating the elipse make a new layer ctrl + shift + n call it "elipse".
Now you can draw the circle by using the elipse marque (which is probally the one ou already used) and fill it with white by hitting ctrl + d, x, alt + backspace.
There's no need for rasterizing that way.
Good luck ;)

The tutorial works pretty goof. Just make sure you layer is not locked when you rasterize other wise it won't work. I think your photshop is fine.

Try using the clone tool.
Searching for a tutorial will probally help you a lot since there'll be pictures and such, but using a soft 50% opa. clone tool to sample some clean skin and then aply it under the eyes, but there are many methods of doing this.
