Job description
The Technical Project Manager will lead medium scale projects, in J2EE / .NET technologies, with medium levels of risk and complexity. Typically these projects will include systems, technical infrastructure, business process and IT service provision, using multiple delivery channels
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Project Manager would be responsible for leading multiple software engineering teams to deliver solutions for our clients
Supports business development activity, through leading the overall solution design, project shaping and business case creation; including systems architecture, cost, commercial and contractual viability and identification of risk levels
Actively participates in the sales campaigns to demonstrate delivery capability to clients including promoting company business process and IT outsourcing services with clients and developing relationships that are transferable into sales opportunities
Defines detailed scope and deliverables for project with client (may be internal or external)
Establishes project budget, gains acceptance of cost, revenue and margin targets and manages to these agreed parameters. Produces accurate forecasts of future performance and reports on variance against forecasts
Delivers project in accordance with agreed scope, acceptance criteria, time, financial and quality measures; manages contractual arrangements
Ensures effective client engagement and stakeholder management during project (including sub-contractor and partner management) and reports and escalates in a timely manner to both the client and company , initiating corrective action where required
Ensures implementation of effective governance processes
To identify and manage risk in his/her business activities and take responsibility for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner
Utilises and champions agreed delivery methodology/ies and tools, including PRINCE2 and ensures compliance with company's delivery governance requirements
Completes assignment review with client at the end of each and every project (or six monthly for long term projects)
Undertakes third party reviews of other projects
