am trying to submit some photographs of mine to an online contest at redbull. the contest requires that all pictures be at least 8 megapixels. although I shot them with a high-end digital SLR (a nikon D-100) they are only 6.1 Megapixels and will not work.
Is there any way to change the megapixel data in photoshop so that I can "trick" the filters placed on the online submition form, and thereby submit my photographs?
thanks

Hi and welcome to DEVPPL.
The thing you can do is only to increase the width and height of your photograph, but that will decrease the quality pretty much. Does your camera support 8 MP ? In that case, just change the settings on it.
But to answer your question. Open the image in photoshop, press CTRL+ALT+I sett the size to Width:4096 Height: 2160
Press OK.

I am using photo zoom pro, and i can tell you that it is wonderfull program. It uses some complex filters to resize images. I made 28 MPx images from 3 MPx and the look nice.
Making 8 MPx from 6.1 will be easy and even professionals would not be able to see that image was resized
