Mystery Lines on Print

Postby regm on Wed Mar 23, 2011 1:15 pm

A client supplied me a logo in gif format with transparent background. The image looks great in PS CS3x, Breezebrowser, Publisher, Frontpage and on a website.
But when I try to print a Pub document with the logo, the central part of the image which is a circle prints evenly spaced blue lines all the way across the circle, but nowhere else. I converted the gif to a png and it was the same.
Sample attached
Any ideas?

hi,
i can think of a few possiblities, but i would do some testing to try to eliminate the possiblities...

now what i don't
what program this logo is being printed from???

did you you try printing the gif logo from your photoshop and also from a couple of other different programs and see if you got the same results!!! if other programs
appear to be fine then maybe it something specific with the program that produce the results...

did you try different printers???? if it only occurrs with just a specific printer maybe upgrading the drivers will help.. or there a another problem with the printer itself....

note: i assume you made sure that your ink levels are ok.... whenever you get lines on your inkjet printer... that always one of the first things i think of... and with this image it appears the blue printing fine and the black appears to be fine it just shows up with the other colors....

now for the most part.... since display looks good in vaarious... it appears to be a printing issue, either a problem with the printer or the program that your using to print from ie:is this word processor or some brochure program or printshop or etc etc.....

those are my humble opinions maybe some one else can come up with different set of ideas
