Need help with PNG and transparency

Postby hsand01 on Sat Jun 23, 2007 11:30 pm

Hey everyone,
Im trying to make a custom contact table for my myspace and am having some transparency issues in internet explorer. Ok so this is what i want the image to do... (this was taken in firefox)

I need it to be able to see the background through the image.

But in internet explorer the transparent part of the image is filled in with a solid color. Shown here...

Now im pretty sure its not the html because it does the same exact thing when i open the image locally by itself. I have tried gif and they worked fine, but the resolution wasent good enough.

There is the psd if anyone wants to take a look and see what i could have done wrong.

oops guess i was wrong... it was the html. apparently internet explorer doesent support png files with more than 256 color's. so in order to make it work i had to apply some crazy activex filter inside the html or something... found my info here -
