new photoshop user, helpful sites?

Postby kingrottenboy on Thu Jun 28, 2007 9:56 pm

Hello I am new to the photoshop world and really enjoying the program and all, a little low on cash, can anyone reccomend web sites that have free patters, or an image catalog.

Lets say I wanted to find a high quality pic of something ordinary like a teapot. is there a good website that has a good selection and a very good price (free of course would be best)

I was going through my archives and found a couple of useful sites.

http://www4.army.mil/armyimages/ - Hi-Res public domain US army images
http://www.af.mil/photos/ - Hi-res public domain US air-force images
http://www.ensky.com/stockphoto/index.php
http://www.amgmedia.com/freephotos/index.html - Low-res but would be good for something!
http://www.pixelperfectdigital.com/free_image_archive/ - Good range of images
http://www.textureking.com/ A lot of interesting hi-res textures
http://www.morguefile.com/
http://www.freeimages.co.uk/ Some good images- mostly low res
http://www.imageafter.com/ Good images- often a bit quirky
http://www.mayang.com/textures/ My favorite texture site
http://photo.itc.nps.gov/storage/images/index.html US Nat'l Park Service image archives

OK, that might have been more than "a few". Hope they help.

-Medley.
