Opening Kodak Photo CD files in CS3

Postby Gene on Thu May 01, 2008 11:24 pm

I have an old Kodak Photo CD. The file extensions on the disc are .PCD.
Photoshop CS3 is not recognizing this format and I can't open them. Can anyone advise me on opening these files? I thought changing the extensions to .tif or .jpg they might open but no luck.

Hi there,

It is possible to open PCD files with Photoshop without converting them first.

To do this, install the PhotoCD plug-in on the Photoshop CS3 DVD (Goodies/Optional Plug-Ins/Kodak PhotoCD). The ReadMe included in the DVD explains where to copy the PhotoCD plug-ins and the color profiles - it's really easy to do.

Hope this helps :)
