Out of Gamut Colors

Out of Gamut Colors

Postby dvilimek on Sat Dec 01, 2007 6:41 am

Hi there,

I'm designing some jpeg and png images in Illustrator, but I require colors that are "out of gamut," and I therefore can't get them to appear in the file. Since I'm not printing these documents, I need to find a way to override the "out of gamut" safeguard. Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Just wondering, what color mode are you working in?

Thanks for asking. Color setting are:

RGB: Monitor RGB - sRGB IEC61966-2.1
CMYK: U.S. Sheetfed Coated v2

Under color management policies, I have both RGB and CMYK "off."

Are there color settings where lime green would be "in gamut"?

Thanks!!

Thanks to everyone who reviewed this.
I've answered my own silly question -- just wasn't sure how to switch from CMYK to RGB mode. Quite an interesting topic actually -- my first time reading about subtractive vs additive color blends.

Thanks!
