Package Deals

Does anyone know of a site that offers a package deal: both a domain and hosting?

I think this would be a great idea if it isn't already in practice, and could probably save people money since the site offering the deal would get both domain and hosting pay rather than on or the other.

Anyway, I'm hoping to be able to set up a small website that my family could visit for pictures and stuff, but I don't really have $100 a year to put out. Maybe I could get a domain and hosting for around $35 annually? I don't need too much bandwidth or anything, just some filespace and perferably PHP/MySQL availability.

Just wondering if anyone knows about any sites that might offer this kind of deal...

Hi and welcome to DEVPPL.

I don't think it will be any problems getting domain+hosting for less then $35 anually. A .com/.net/.org -domain only costs round $10 / year and almost all webhosting firms offers that hosting+domain.

I'm not very into theese cheap hosting alternatives, but there are thousands of them. Some companies even offer free hosting. Some offer free hosting if you buy a domain from them, and maybe that's a good alternative for you. Here's a directory with some free hosting links. (there are probably ads with most of them, like a popup or something)

If you don't want a domain like .com/.net/.org and maybe can accept a .cjb.cc I've hread this site offers free hosting and a free domain-name:

Another domain-name that's free is .tk goto:
www.the-domain-you-wish.tk, a register-field will appear.

I want to add that I've never tested or used any of theese free or cheap services. I just speak in generall.

Well, no, you can't see the site yet as I still have to be "approved" before I can actually upload files.

Yes, and I'm not normally one to use dark colors, but I figured that it would be a bit more exciting than just white with text, as I was going for the minimastic approach.

Once my new site is finished, I think you'll enjoy the colors a bit more.

Check out Servage.net. They have really good hosting for a good price and it comes with a free domain name. If anyone desides to go with them, contact me before hand and I can get you more space.
