Page Number Cursor

How would I go about making a page number cursor like the one on google.com.
I would want it to have buttons for "First Page" "Next Page" Previous Page" and "Last Page" kinda like this...

First Page | Next Page | Previous Page | Last Page
1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9|10|11|12|13|14|15|16|17

and than after u go past page 17 it updates to

18|19|20|21|22|23|24|25|26

would this be done with javascript? or what would you suggest

Depends what serverside scripting is available on your server really but PHP FTW.

Depending on your exact needs multi pages can be done with javascript too but typically you would use pagination for dynamic sites with lots of info on to display the info accross multiple pages making it faster to load pages.
