Page SetUp Settings will not stick... Help!

Postby MacGeek on Thu Jun 21, 2007 8:19 pm

Photoshop CS
OS 10.4.9

I'm having a problem with my Page Setup Settings not sticking!

Ex. I set them to what I want.....hit o.k...... Then go back into Page Setup and the settings are changed?

I've tried trashing prefs and even reinstalled the printer drivers, but nothing seems to work.

Any suggestions?

The setting "Format for:"

Its for a Epson picturemate pm240
a cheap 4x6 printer.

whats strange is that I was able to set the setting for 3 prints, then after that It started to act up.

After it started to act up is when I started to trouble shoot it.

The only options that i have under 'Page Setup' from the PS printing dialoge are: size, source, orientation, and margins.

If you are trying to set print-specific settings, (going to printer - properties) then those are not settings that have anything to do with photoshop. Your best bet is to set them in the printer (if in windows - control panel - printers and faxes - right click on printer - properties.)

Most of the time when you set these settings in PS, it is a temporary save, that only lasts until you close out of photoshop.

Hope this helps. :)

Mac PS must have different print options.

The settings wont stay at all.

I'll keep the same image open and jump in and out of my page setup and the settings switch back to

format for: Any printer

which must control the print driver.

Thanks for your help though, let me know if you have any other ideas.

Try going to your (Mac) System Preferences> Print and Fax and choosing your printer from the "Selected printer in Print Dialog" pop-up menu. This should make the printer the default, and may solve your problems.

Thanks for everyones help.

I threw out all my printing preferences and now the page setup menu works..... as long as I dont save my file. If I save any file in PS then If I try to print any file the Page Setup options willn't stick.

Also If I (In Page Setup - Settings) hit "save as default" I have to throw out the Prefs and reboot. It seems to corrupt my printing Prefs.....Dunno:?

I wonder if this is a common problem or just with my system?
