photoshop custom brush/stamp question

Postby calpolyarc on Fri Apr 27, 2007 8:29 pm

I'm trying to make a custom brush/stamp tool in CS2 for bushes and trees in a colored site plan. I know how to make a custom brush... but it doesn't preserve the color of the bush or tree. I also made a custom stamp, or pattern. But this doesn't act the way I want it to, like as if I had a real rubber stamp and I just started stamping all over - the same image would be stamped each time. In PS it doesn't work like that, it tiles your pattern and then when you use the pattern stamp it reveals what your tiled pattern looks like at that spot.

So anyone have any ideas? Seems like this is something PS should be able to do no problem??

The brushes dont save color, just shape (they dont save size either).

I would recomend just creating your brush, and jotting down the size you have it set to, and set a color in your swatches pallette for the color you want them to be. Then whenever you need to throw one on a set of plans, you just grab your brush, change the size, and grab the color from the swatches.

Or just create one tree on it's own layer, and then duplicate this layer and move it whenever you want a new tree...

Hope this helps.
