Photoshop display problems

Postby rabidpigeons89 on Mon Apr 23, 2007 9:09 am

Hello, i have some crazy problem with photoshop with strange "barcodes" being placed all over the screen... It only happens when I have a multiplied layer above a coloured layer. Ive updated drivers etc but its still the same. heres a screen shot Image

Im on a dual intel core 2 1.8ghz, 1gb ram, radeon x300 series (x300/x550 processor)

Its the same prob at all resolutions, all colour depths.... :( Anyone seen a prob like this before?

Thanks in advance

It doesn't look like hardware problem. Should be something else.

Hi Tombo, 1vic.

Im working in RGB at 300dpi, at over 6000px size. I checked out some of the other i,age settings (cmyk, lab etc) and tried a few other colour profiles just to see what would happen, well the colours change slightly as expected but the lines are still there. Ive fiddled around with some of the colour settings in the Display menu (at least i think its display, im working on a French system and still getting used to the language!) but to no result. Ive had the in house technician look at the problem too but he doesnt know whats wrong either. Its a bit of a pain since everyone else in the team has perfectly working (albeit slightly slower) versions of PS and im having to match colour etc with them! Arg! Any more ideas?? :)

Not my field but if I were to make a guess, it would be color settings as well.

You have mentioned a team, sooo
did you try to open your project on somebody else's computer to see if the problem is still there?
Did you try try to open somebody else's project where this type of layering or whatever you do there have been used? Did you try to recreate problem in a new project just to make sure that your original project is not corrupted?

hey guys and girls; thanks for your help, i found that i can eliminate the problem by turning on the blending of rgb layers with gamma at 2.2 It changes the colour temperature ever so slightly but its barely noticable.
The problem occurs on almost every multiplied layer at some point, and only on my pc. What luck! Still, it seems to be fine now.

Thanks again!!
