Photoshop request: drawing to logo

Hello! i'm running a Norwegian Starcraft clan, and my friend draw me a really nice logo. We are planing to use the logo on our teamshirts, so it need to get some colours, but not a "color explosion" and a more digital look. Also i need the background removed. I know you guys can make me something awesome!

Since the drawing is pretty "Zerg" inspired ill guess this colour theme would fit maybe add some green etc. Or just feel free to use diffrent colors
