Photoshop Request

Postby Monika1013 on Thu Dec 04, 2008 2:19 am

Hey everyone.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a project. My boyfriend is turning 25 in January and I'm planning a 'Quarter of a Century' party. Keeping with the theme, I want to put his face on a quarter. I want to be able to put it on a cake and a pinata. The reason I need others' help with this is that my computer's screen is cracked and I'm using my mom's, and her POS doesn't have PhotoShop. Besides that, I wouldn't be very good at this project. I want his face where George's face is, and possibly a couple of dork touches to the whole thing.

I want the whole thing to be as realistic as possible. As if it was never George Washington, but Michael. By 'dork touches', by the way, I mean like "In Dorks We Trust" instead of "God". I'm not much of a gamer myself, so if any one out there has any ideas, feel free. His favorite websites are PennyArcade, Fark, Kotaku, etc. He loves Get your war on, Cyanide and Happiness. He's all about Metal Gear Solid 4 and really really crappy old games like American Gladiator. If there's any sort of spoof of United States of America that you know of, please use that. If not, "United States of Whatever" would be awesome.

I do need a back of a quarter for the pinata, so anyone who would like to take a whack at that is more than welcome. I don't really have very many requests for the back, but he likes Philadelphia, so if you can use the outline of the newer state quarters, that would be awesome. Or, if the eagle of the old quarter can be changed into some superhero logo, that would be awesome. His dad likes the Green lantern, for example. Any sort of game or comic reference would be great.

this is my lame attempt at erasing the background on paint. I also tried to remove the date...and didn't do well. larger size

please don't pay any attention to the crazy chick to the left. (please remove the date if you want to use this one) larger size

and last but not least..

I googled for about an hour and this is the biggest and clearest picture of a quarter I could find.

The final picture has to be big, because it has to be stretched to about 12-18 inches. OH, and if the year can be the year 1984, that would be so cool!

Soooo much thanks in advance!
Monika.

Edit- I posted this and realized the picture I have of the original (with the date and all) is 3296X2472 but photobucket won't let me post anything that big, so if you'd like to send me an email I'll send you the big copy in return. (and i'm totally new to this forum, so if I did something incorrectly, I'm really really sorry.)

Hi, I'm not going to offer technical help but more my opinion on your ideas. First of all, is a quarter of a century party really a good idea? I mean it makes him sound old, and It could be depressing like a quarter of his life is gone? Also I don't think putting his head on a pinata would be such a good idea... think about it, I shouldn't have to explain that one lol...

Imo you should just put a big pic of his head on the cake, maybe get that photo of you two together touched up, printed and framed give him that and perhaps a pinata without his head on it ;).

I have had a little to drink and I'm absolutely knackered but that's my opinions!

The Quarter of a Century theme was pretty much inspired by him. We were laying in bed one night and he goes 'Holy crap, I'm going to be half way to fifty in January!' He's all about making fun of himself and having fun while doing so. I totally understand and appreciate your concern, and would think the same if I read it elsewhere, but I'm pretty sure Michael's not going to get all that depressed. Besides, he'll probably be so drunk he's not even going to realize it's his face.

I'm a little upset you guessed (correctly) it was me in that picture. (lol totally kidding)

How about passing a few of those drinks my way? ;)

Totally off subject, but just wanted to explain my crazy face in that picture. Not only had I just drank a bit, but we were trying to reenact a scene from Prince's video 'Black Sweat'.
