Animating With Opacity

1. Make new document width 144 and height 144,resolution to 72.

2. Press 'D' to reset color to black foreground and white background.

3. Press ALt+Backspace to fill foreground color.

4. Drag flower from other source (see in image)Now your document have two layers.let's assume background and layer1

5. Click File>Jump To>Adobe ImageReady... or Press Ctrl+Shift+M

6. In Animation palette click popup menu and choose New frame (if animation palette is not visible click Window>Animation)

7. Repeat step 6 (now you have 3 frames in Animation palette)

8. Select frame 2 from Animation palette, In layers palette change layer1 opacity to 30%

9. From Animation popup menu choose Tween.Tween dialog box appear.In Tween With select Previous frame,for Frames to Add choose 5,For layers choose All layers,for Parameters choose Opacity,Click OK.

10. Now you have 8 frames in Animation palette , Select frame 8 and repeat step 9.

11. Press Play button in Animation palette,if you don't like delay amount make follow. In Animation popup menu Select All Frames and click '0 sec' level below the frames and choose desire delay.

12. Click File>Save Optimized and choose location,give file name ,save as type to '*.gif',click Save.

Now you get below animated file.

Its much easier to just use the motion tween that imageready provides, it does the exact same thing just alot less work.

As OrionLeingod sais: Make a black image with the rose layer on. Create a new frame in the animation pallete and hide the rose layer. Press "Tween..." press enter and its done =)

But it's a good tutorial for animation other things, this tutorial shows a techniqe, not how to make a fading rose.
