plz help me with a signature's font

Postby w1cho on Sat May 19, 2007 7:21 am

hi, i recently finished this signature, but i try to put some text and i just cant make it to look nice, i've tried a lot of fonts, shapes, font sizes, font spacing, and nothing, i'd really appreciate any help, here's what i have in mind:

on the right side of the big A i'd like a text box:

Anglo-American
Aviation
Pilot

...just like that, on 3 lines, here's the signature.

Image

I mostly tried with the font "Visitor", the one that is often used on userbars, i wanted it to have a white color and black stroke.
Thanks a lot to whom may help me, if you need the .psd i'll gladly send it.
Any ideas?

I tried and I think it looks decent. If you don't like it, tell me why and I'll see if I can't fix it so you do.

thanks a lot! i couldn't do it any better myself hehe, i tried almost every way and just couldn't do it. can i ask for one last favor? how about a black stroke on the font instead of that gray one? i opened photoshop to try again that font thing and do the stroke in black, but, PS doesn't work :@, i don't know what's wrong with it, i choose any tool and doesn't work, it just shows me that little hand used to pan an image, i reload PS, reload files, try everything and get nothing. so if it's not much to ask, could you please change that to a black stroke?, it's ok if you don't want heh, don't wanna bother anymore.

thanks in advance!

oooh man thanks a loot, finally i got PS to work properly, but still no success on setting the perfect font hehe, i'll use the signature you made. out of curiosity, what settings did you input? i opened two windows in order to compare: one with your design and one without text (so i was trying to put the text), i started with 15 pt (too small) so was 15.2, 15.5, then 16 pt was too big. i resized the text box and text was huge and fat, all the percents were on 100%, no anti-aliasing, and everything else default or 0.

thanks a lot dude, check my new signature :P

Nice sig....whoever did the font on that thing must be a total badass...

14 pt.
18 pt line height
increased tracking to 25
scaled it vertically just a tiny, tiny bit
strong AA
and set a 1px stroke
also, there are probably a million different versions of that font out there so there are going to be variations depending on which version is used. anyway, glad to help.
