Portfolio site of mine

Postby kevind_2007 on Tue May 19, 2009 6:46 pm

Hello,
I have recently started an online portfolio containing some of my works whether it be coding, design, websites, etc. You get the idea..I have the main page almost done, but I just wanted a few critiques on the design, etc. I dont have any links up yet because I dont want to get too far involved if I need to make some adjustments. I also haven't finished the footer. I enjoy simplicity and typography rather than extra flashy websites, so please keep that in mind. Web/Graphic Design is not my major, it's just a little hobby I do in my spare time due to my desire to fool around in photoshop. The bottom two div's are just place holders for now, I'll load them with database content, etc. later. Thanks,
-Kevo

I like it and cannot wait to see how it looks with completed linked pages and such. I think for the most part you have very consistent style which is good. If I had to make one suggestion it might be narrowing the amount of, or better organization of, colors on the page. As it stands your main logo seems to feature White Red and Yellow/Orange which is good especially since you reuse those colors for titles, texts, and backgrounds within the page. But I think the, for lack of a better term, "Guest Appearance" of blue and green maybe fight with the orange and red color theme a bit.

That could just be my own style preferences coming through so I would see what other people think before you make any drastic changes.

Very nice use of gradients and texture, tell me when you finish the rest of the site - I would love to see the final version!
