So, I'm not sre if you guys areaware about the artform of vectors/vexels, but there's a massive amount of them. They're timecomsuming to make, the can easily turn out like crap, but still there are amazing vector/vexel works out there (to understand them better see here
http://www.vexels.net/). The deal is to make layers out of different colors, making it look like a picture (mostly a real picture is used as a base and then turned into a vexel).
Anyway, I've tried a to make a few before but I've never been serious with it since it take sucha buttload of time, but now I have one (even though it's just one in progress. I'm fully aware of that she's missing eyes, but that's pretty much what I have left to do. According to me, that's the hardest part (that and hair).
