I am posting in response to John's post regarding SEO work. I took interest in your mentioned success. There are so many disappointing SEO ventures on the web. Fortunately, Microsoft has a serveral SEO related plans which I plan to personally use in the very near furture:

http://www.microsoft.com/smallbusiness/ ... etail.mspx
Which is essentially why I was visiting the forum.
Anyway, back to John's post, I took a look at the website you have provided SEO for. The site itself at a cursory glance seemed to have lots of information on it. So, I went a step further and checked the source for key words, and pursued the results for test searches. Hum... nothing seemed to be found in ranking. Utterly, nothing. No listings under the sites key words, at all, in MS beta top 200. Perhaps, you are opt for special search?
Perhaps it is over simplistic to merely make content informative, interesting and user friendly. Oh, and most of all unique as possible. With only the after thought being SEO. Yet, building a website solely towards the search engine is equally simplistic.
Though we surely plan to do more in terms of viewer information and SEO, I think we arrived at balance with our website:
http://officeavenue.com/
Officeavenue.com lists number one under the search term "office website design" in MSN and is in the top 10 with other many search engines. Office Avenue's focus is on website design for small business. So, "office website design" (1) "ms office training"(1) "SharePoint website" ect are helpful rankings for us. Admittedly, our ranking under the very competive search term "website designer" remains disappointing to us.
Office Avenue's site was initially planned almost exclusively towards the viewers in our area of San Antonio, Texas. Thus, and frankly, the SEO aspects were secondary in the initial phase of our business efforts.
Though we could do website design for anyone in the world, we remain more comfotable with the better product we are able to provide locally. Digital photography and face to face contact with our clients. Does anyone have additional information regarding best SEO practice for LOCAL searches? In particular for us, San Antonio, Texas.
Thanks/comments welcome
