Background Help

Postby mickyw2345 on Mon Jul 24, 2006 4:17 pm

Hi there, i was wondering if you guys would be able help me out, the problem i have is that at the moment i am trying to remove the background from some images that i had taken in Africa they are of african carvings that i have purchased the problem i have is that the colours are too similar in the background to the product itself and i am having an extremely hard time removing the background, the images are going into a catalogue, both on cd and on web. Now i was wondering if there was a particular technique or a plugin that would make the process any easier at the moment the images are taking anywhere between 3 - 4 hours which would be fine if i didn't have 600 images.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mike,

Can you give us an example of the images you are trying to edit?

I know very little about plugins so you should probally wait for someone else to answer about that.

Now I'm just comming up with an idea, never tried this before, so don't kill me if it won't work.
What I would do, is take your picture and dublicate that layer ...
... hmm, I'll need to see a picture.. Else I'm not sure what I'm thinking about will work ..
It's a bit hard to explain and it would be easier with a picture.

600 images.. With the lasso tool and they have to be clean enough to go in a catalogue..
