Did you know that with linux you can easily make mini supercomputer if you have several computers available. You don't even need to change your existing software because linux can run from bootable CD. You also need Beowulf - free software that enables you to connect PCs. The idea is to connect PCs so they work as one.
I never tried this, because I have only on PC, but this is very intersting.

I read this in a magazine a year ago. I don't have any tutorials.
But you can search the web, I'll try to find that old magazine and to give you url of site which describes how students from (I think some Californian) university connected bunch of laptops. In that time it was one of 500 fastest computers on earth (you can also try searching top500.com)
