Best game ever?

Best game ever?

Postby Eclipse on Tue Aug 24, 2004 6:56 pm

Which game do you think has been the best game ever. Not just graphical but also revolutionizing. I would say that Half-Life with the Counter-Strike mod is the best, it was made -97 and so many people is playing it still today.

Tetris and Pacman are good ideas too =)

One of the best games I played throughout my life is Twinsen's Odessey 2 (also known as Little Big Adventures). I played it like when I was 12 years old or something, but I really liked the game :). Not because of the graphics but I somehow got touched by the story of the game.

But I quite much agree that Half life is one of the best games throught the ages too though

Tetris is so unrealistic :D

The Diablo and Diablo II games is great too, I think Diablo II was released -97 too, and the graphic it has was so impressive at that time. I have played that game very much, I think thats the best game for singleplayer. But Counter-Strike is definately the best multiplayer game.

In my opinion Unreal Tournament is the best game ever. I'm still playing it. After that I would nominate Need for Speed Underground, and in a few months, I might nominate Need for Speed Underground 2 as well :D

What would counterstrike be without multiplayer? Nothing, so I would say that that is the best multiplayer game, and the best the best singelplayer game is I think Doom (the firts one)
But Batlefield 1942, the GTA series is also good contestents.

Yeah, GTA is very nice, the first one was so great. I look forward to Need For Speed 2, hope they have done a lot of changes since the first one.

What About?

Postby Vortex on Fri Aug 27, 2004 10:34 am

Don't leave out the RPG side of the house. In my opinion the most revolutionizing game of all time would have to be the original Everquest. It opened up many new doors in the gaming community. Not to mention all the other MMORPG's that came after. The graphics arn't that great for todays standards, but it is still a pretty immersive world. Everquest 2 which is scheduled to be released later this year will be my primary game for years to come. I'm also starting an Everquest 2 guild so PM me if you would like more information

I never loved RPG's. I don't know why, but I just don't. There are some exceptions, like for instance Splinter Cell, but that's a shooter as well...
