A quick way to do single line dotted text

Hiya, I've been trying to do dotted text including Numbers and words which are basically comprised of single dotted lines. I tried using the stroke took hover on Text this creates dots around the perimeter. This is not what i want. I want to create text and numbers with a SINGLE dotted line! What is the quickest way to do this without having to draw circles and place them in the shapes for every letter in the alphabet!
